At Wembley Studios, we’ve been international practically from the beginning, mainly because we’ve worked on many occasions with clients and projects beyond Spanish borders. But we have ambition — which is often demonized but is by no means inherently bad — and we want to direct our gaze further. Literally. But the world is big. Where do we focus that gaze?

We believe the United Kingdom is an ideal starting point for expansion, something we’ve wanted to do for a long time; it makes sense if we look at our beginnings, our trajectory, and even our company name. If you’re a fan of football or music or have visited the British Isles, you know what we’re talking about.

Why are we establishing ourselves there, and not in São Paulo, for example? We don’t rule out Brazil at all, but our time zone is similar to the British one, we know the language, and we’ve already developed projects there previously. For now, we think the UK is the ideal ‘beachhead’ for us to be known by potential international clients. And when we expand even further, we’ll let you know. But for now, we’re delighted with this strategically vital step for us.

Who and why will lead this expansion?

As is often the case when important decisions are made in this house, talent has been the defining factor. Specifically, that of our colleague Francisco García —Paco, among us— who accepted the challenge without hesitation.

Paco shares our values, has the right amount of ambition as well as drive, and, of course, experience and qualifications to deserve our full trust. With a background in Business Administration, he has worked for major companies like Caixabank in Spain and, for the past five years in the UK, for recognizable names such as Amazon, Mundipharma, or the University of Cambridge.

“I’m facing a great personal and professional challenge: expanding an international business is no easy task,” says Paco. “It’s a significant challenge to get to know and adapt to another culture, establish valuable connections between them, which often requires considerable effort to achieve success,” our colleague assures.

The first step of many in an ambitious plan

To provide good service, it’s not enough to offer from Spain; you have to be where you need to be, and that’s why Paco is opening our first commercial office outside of Spain.

Located in Cambridge, through it, we’ll begin to introduce our software development offerings, UX and UI design, Generative AI solutions, and Azure cloud implementations from Microsoft to our new British clients.

A new stage begins, which is also the start of a much more ambitious plan that aims to open markets in new places, but… everything in its time. We’ll keep you informed.
